Why can’t manufacturers write better manuals

I have seen some terribly written manuals for tech gadgets and computers. I think sometimes, that in a rush for a company to get their products to market they funnel all of the budget cuts into one department and that is the manual writing department. I just purchased a wonderful program called Camtasia. This program has really opened my eyes as a blogger, podcaster and techno-junkie. Here is what I think. If you have ever had a bad experience I would highly recommend that you take a look and listen to this podcast. My wife does alot of tutorials with clients over the phone and I think she would get some mileage out of Camtasia.

Camtasia is a fascinating program that can video record your desktop. Let’s think about this for a moment. If you are having trouble with a software program of any kind there is probably someone out on the internet that has used Camtasia to put together some kind of an on line tutorial that can help you. Do any of you use excel?  There is a fellow that uses Camtasia that is an excel expert.
