Welcome all newbies!
This is for all of the newbies out there. Welcome. As a newbie, you are entitled to a lot of information and goodwill. As a constant learner (and, by the way, if you made it this far and are reading this blog you have come to the realization that you will have to be a constant learner if you touch anything remotely associated with technology) Anyway, newbies only stay newbies until they learn enough to become medium users. Then, with enough time, energy and perseverance, you can become what they call a ‘power user’ or something even worse. An expert user.
Don’t worry, we wont take you there within the next 15 minutes. What we will attempt to do is to let you know that you deserve to have fun with technology. Look at all the wonderful opportunities you have to explore stuff you don’t know anything about. I’ll let you in on a little secret. Wordpress is a totally new experience for me as well, and I have had a few issues with it. To me, its a little clumsy. For example, why don’t they just make the dashboard a little more intuitive and easier for everyone to understand?
I have my personal pet peeves about this program that I have to use in order to ’spread the gospel of healthy tech talk’, but if I didn’t push myself to learn new things how would I ever grow? We have some great tutorials in this blog that cover some of the basics for folks who are just starting out. When I was working at the call center, I loved taking new agents and monitoring their progress. Some of them would be pretty cagey, and would tell me that they fully understood every single concept of the training modules that they had learned when they completed their courses. Interestingly enough, some of them were very bright and could absorb like a sponge, but most of them had to struggle. Thats where you learn the most. Inside the struggle.
Let’s just remember that Einstein was thrown out of math class, several times. Henry Ford was told that he wouldn’t amount to anything. So, if you struggle with technology that means that you will probably do very well at it. The reason is because struggling makes you insanely curious, and when your curious, you almost make it a game. That’s why I am really excited for all of you newbies. It’s all mysterious and fresh, and you know that when you learn something new, you feel really good about it. I’m going to put up enough information on this blog so that you can truly learn about computers and technology, as well as decreasing your stress at the same time. How? Well, just follow some of these links.
