Whistler 2009, a few months before the Olympics (see video’s here)

Pat and myself thought it would be a great idea to drive up to Whistler for a few days on December 19th. First, it helped us to really get into the Christmas mood, and to see the village just before the Olympics begin in January of 2010. It snowed over 8 inches while we were there, and the village was blanketed with a puffy white blanket of snow that made the village look like a scene out of a Charles Dickens Christmas story. We will post some videos for folks that want to see snow in the village. I also took some video of the outside heated pool and hot tub while we were having breakfast.

Here is the first video. Just put on some Christmas carols, click on the video and enjoy the surroundings while you watch people swimming and soaking in the heated pool and hot tub.

When we attempted to pack for Whistler, our cats had other ideas.

15 minutes go by with little change, but another cat joins the protest.

Wintertime in Whister Village is a series of pure magical moments. Watching this video reminds me of a Charles Dickens Christmas in jolly old England.

Here is the second video of snow in the village. It gives you a slightly different perspective. Again, I loaded up some Christmas carols, then clicked on this video. Hey, if you can’t go to Whistler for Christmas, you can at least bring Whistler to you. Enjoy.

Walking into the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is not to be missed. They have almost every conceivable form of chocolate, ice cream or flavored popcorn you can imagine. I feel a chocolate sin coming on.

In Whistler Village, beautiful and well behaved dogs are everywhere. We came upon this one year old puppy waiting for his master inside a small mall.

There we were in the Village when we found a hat store and I decided that I should try some on. Pat picked out a cute little number, but I just couldn’t find the right look.

I used to work as a herdsman on one of the largest dairy farms in Alberta. I can usually get milk out of something if it is bovine and female. This one doesn’t give up her milk very easily.

OK, this is where I get to defend my favorite type of footwear. Thats right! Crocs forever baby! If you haven’t heard of Crocs yet, you have to check them out. It’s like walking on little puffy clouds, no, its more like walking on freshly made marshmallows, no, I know, its like walking on little down pillows. Well, you get the idea. Here we are in the Croc store.
